This forward-thinking group of clinicians and entrepreneurs draws upon a great depth of experience to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions.

Hammad M. Shah, Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Shah oversees the corporate direction and strategy for SOC, and has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare leadership, serving in senior administrative, strategic and operational roles. His expertise crosses many disciplines including product development, sales, process improvement, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Shah’s work spanned the globe during a time when countries in Asia and Europe, such as China, Singapore, Germany and the United Kingdom, were undergoing significant efforts to reform their healthcare systems. This has given him the deep understanding required to aid organizations in assessing how to operate in rapidly changing healthcare markets.

As the former president of FreseniusRx, Mr. Shah championed the company’s vision to change the practice of pharmacy from simply dispensing medications to playing an integral role in patient care. He created a growth strategy that transformed the full-service pharmacy into a renal specialty pharmacy, providing health care expertise to patients living with kidney disease. Under his leadership this pharmacy saw significant growth, positioning the division as one of the largest renal specialty pharmacies in the country. In his role, Mr. Shah also served as a senior vice president for Fresenius Medical Care North America, to bridge the company’s pharmacy services with the larger renal division.

Previously, he served as vice president and general manager for emerging markets at Express Scripts. He was responsible for managing a portfolio of companies, as well as supporting an acquisition strategy designed to meet inorganic, domestic health care growth goals.

Since 2008, he has served on the board of directors for ZYTO™, a digital health company that produces software and equipment to facilitate decision-making about health care and wellness. He is also a member of the board of directors for Remedi Senior Care, which provides pharmacy solutions that enable long-term care facilities to reduce medication costs, improve efficiency and increase medication administration safety and accuracy.

Mr. Shah attended Arizona State University, where he earned a master’s degree in business administration and completed coursework toward a master’s degree in health sector management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Temple University.
